Ashland is a 2D metroidvania focused on exploration, ability progression, and atmospheric worldbuilding. 

Traverse different areas, face challenging enemies, unlock powerful movements and combat abilities at ancient shrines, and uncover the mystery behind a shattered comet and its missing fragments.

Long ago, a comet shattered above the world, scattering three fragments across the land. Ash filled the skies and twisted the creatures below. The fragments were sealed within a shrine, and peace returned. Now they are gone — and the ash has risen once more.

Explore a interconnected world filled with ruins, trials, and forgotten paths. Unlock powerful abilities at ancient shrines, overcome deadly enemy challenges, and open new routes using keys, levers, and portals. 

Each ability changes how you move, fight, and explore, allowing you to revisit earlier areas and uncover hidden secrets.

- Abilities (movement and combat such as: Dash, Double Jump, Glide, Wall Jump, Smash attack, Spell and other cool abilities)

- Map (So you can always see where to go and what path to explore next)

- Different areas

- Currency that allows the player to upgrade attack damage, spell damage,  heal amount and other things

- Different types of enemies, trials where you have to test your skills as well as Boss fights

- Different platforming challenges and a few puzzles to solve

- Npc´s (not many but these will help you with your progression, understanding the lore and make the game feel more alive) 

- Classic-Inspired Pixel Graphics. Detailed and handmade pixel art animations

Important:

Aldo the systems are developed and a big part of the assets done there are a lot of things to do to improve the environment and mood of the game, music, lots of pixel art assets for environment and UI. So many things will be subject to change and most important the level and area design.
